"How do we know what God expects of us if we are not in close communication with Him through prayer?" — Archbishop Robert J. Carlson
As Archbishop Carlson points out, we cannot understand what our Lord is asking of us with regard to any aspect of our lives unless we communicate with Him through prayer. It is with that focus that the Stewardship Prayer Book was developed for St. Joseph's parish. Let us together respond as His disciples asking, "What shall I do, Lord?" (Acts 22:10)
Our easy-to-use prayer book is a collection of scripture and prayer. We invite you to journey with us in thanking God for His blessings and striving to make stewardship a way of life. As we focus on one of the prayers each month throughout the year, we ask that our hearts and minds be filled with His truth and His spirit. We also ask our Lord that He bond us together into a strong community of faith and a parish family that is always willing to serve Him!

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” — Psalm 23:1
Almighty Father, we thank You for all the gifts You have given us: our lives, our loved ones, all that we have and all that we are.
Most of all, we thank You for Jesus, Your Son and our Redeemer, who came among us to show the way to eternal life.
Help us to trust that Your generous love will always provide for our needs and in that trust we can become generous stewards of what you have given us.
Jesus was the perfect steward of Your gifts, showing us that complete trust in You is necessary, and that giving of self is a most important part of following Him.
Please help us grow in Your love and in the strength to give of ourselves to others so that we may follow Your Son's example and help all people to complete His mission of salvation.
May the offerings of our time, our talents and our material resources be made in the same spirit of sacrifice that Jesus taught us by His life and death for us.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Lord.
Amen.
